Before You Download: Check These Three Things
- Your application is approved. A pending or rejected application usually cannot be downloaded. Check your status first using our status check steps.
- Your registered mobile number is active. The OTP goes to this number.
- You have your login details or application number. If you have forgotten the password, use the password reset guide.
What You Need
- Registered mobile number
- Password, or access to the OTP
- Application number, if the portal asks for it
- Aadhaar number of the head of the family, if the portal asks for it
The portal shows its own list at each step, so follow what it asks for.
How to Download UP Family ID: Step by Step
Screens and option names can change, but the process generally looks like this:
Step 1: Open the official portal. Go to familyid.up.gov.in in your browser.
Step 2: Log in. Enter your registered mobile number and password, type the captcha, and complete the OTP step if the portal asks for it.
Step 3: Find the download option. On your dashboard, look for the option to download or print the Family ID (Parivar Pehchan Patra).
Step 4: Enter the details asked. If the portal asks, enter your application number or the Aadhaar number of the head of the family.
Step 5: Download and save the PDF. Save it to your phone or computer, and take a printout if you need one.
Step 6: Check the details. Open the PDF and check every name, date of birth and relationship. If you find a mistake, do not ignore it. Use the correction guide to fix it.
Family ID Passbook
Some websites mention a Family ID passbook. Whether it is available depends on what your dashboard shows. If you see a passbook option on the official portal, you can download it the same way. If you do not see it, do not look for it on other websites.

| Wrong name or date of birth in the PDF | Fix it using the correction guide, then download again |
| Member missing from the list | Add the member using the add member guide |

After You Download
- Keep a digital copy on your phone and a safe backup (for example in your email or a cloud folder).
- Keep one printed copy with your other family documents.
- Link your bank account if you want benefits paid by DBT: see the bank account linking guide.
- If someone is added or removed in the family, update the record and download the new copy.
Some schemes and offices may ask for a copy of your Family ID. Requirements differ by scheme, so check what the specific scheme asks for.
Safety Tips While Downloading
- Use only the official portal: familyid.up.gov.in.
- Never share your OTP, password or Aadhaar details.
- Do not download your ID on a public or shared computer if you can avoid it. If you must, delete the file and log out afterwards.
